Eastern Illinois Looks to Build on Last Game

Eastern Illinois struggled in the first game against Illinois, but in the second game they looked a whole better. Eastern Illinois faced off against Monmouth Illinois in the first game and they dominated. Eastern Illinois scored 91 points but even more impressive was the defense gave up 45 points. Kooper Jacobi was the top player putting up 16 points and nine rebounds. There were four different players that finished with at least 10 points.

Loyola Looks to Bounce Back

Loyola had a tough matchup in the first game going against Florida Atlantic, and they were defeated. Loyola Chicago scored 62 points against FAU and that wasn’t nearly good enough as they ended up losing by 13 points. In the second half they were more competitive, but they struggled so much in the first half, that was too late. Philip Alston was the top player for the Ramblers putting up 15 points and six rebounds. He was the only player in double figures and they are going to need others to step up. If they want to have the typoe season they are hoping for, this is a game that they should really dominate.

Eastern Illinois shouldn’t be this big of underdogs. Loyola Chicago’s defense wasn’t good in the first game and the offense wasn’t any better. Look for Eastern Illinois to find the offensive success here, and that is going to be the difference here.
