The Arkansas State Red Wolves and Bowling Green Falcons face off on Saturday in a college basketball showdown at the Stroh Center.

Bowling Green Dominates First Game

Bowling Green faced off against Chicago State in the first game and they dominated the game. Bowling Green scored 70 points, but even more impressive was the defense that gave up only 41 points. At halftime they were only up by 11 points,but in the second half they pulled away for the comfortable victory. Marcus Hill had a strong game for Bowling Green putting up 18 points, five rebounds, and two assists. There were three different players that put up 10 points. In this game, the defense is going to need to step up again.

Arkansas State Dominated in First Game

Arkansas State faced off against Wisconsin in the first game of the season and they really struggled. The offense scored 76 points, but the defense gave up 105 points and that led to the blowout defeat. Guard Freddy Hicks was the top player for Arkansas State and he put up 21 points, seven rebounds, and two assists. Caleb Fields finished with 17 points, two rebounds, and two assists. There were three different players that finished with at least 14 points. In this game the defense is going to need to be better.

There is going to be very little defense played by by both teams in this game. Arkansas State gave up 105 points in hte first game and they are going to really struggle in this game. I do expect Arkansas State’s offense is going to find a ton of success against the Bowling Green offense and that will be the difference here.
