The Yale Bulldogs and Gonzaga Bulldogs meet Friday in college basketball action at the McCarthey Athletic Center. Let’s preview this game and give out a pick and prediction.
Yale Bulldogs Betting Preview
The Yale Bulldogs look for another win after beating Vassar on Monday. The Yale Bulldogs look for a fourth straight 2-0 start. The Yale Bulldogs are averaging 102 points on 63.5 percent shooting and allowing 53 points on 28.2 percent shooting. Nick Townsend is averaging 13 points and 7 rebounds, while Bez Mbeng is averaging 12 points and 5 rebounds. John Paoulkidas is the third double-digit scorer and August Mahoney is dishing 2 assists. The Yale Bulldogs are shooting 41.2 percent from beyond the arc and 71.4 percent from the free throw line. Gonzaga Bulldogs Betting Preview
The Gonzaga Bulldogs are coming off a 31-win season and a third straight big dance berth. The Gonzaga Bulldogs enter the 25th season under coach Mark Few. Anton Watson returns after averaging 11.1 points and 6.2 rebounds, while Nolan Hickman averaged 7.7 points and 3.1 assists. Colby Brooks played in 22 minutes last season and Ben Gregg averaged 3 rebounds. The Gonzaga Bulldogs lost 4 of their top-5 scorers from last season, so there’s a clear transition here. However, Gonzaga cleaned up in the transfer portal, landing Steele Venters from Eastern Washington, Graham Ike from Wyoming and Ryan Nembhard from Creighton. Is this the season Gonzaga can finally get over the hump and lift the trophy?
Randy’s Pick
The Yale Bulldogs are an experienced bunch that's comfortable playing together, and they usually don't beat themselves. Yale should be up for a game like this. The Gonzaga Bulldogs have a lot of new faces, and it could take some time to really get going. However, Gonzaga has a long history of blowing non conference teams out of the water and they don't have much time to figure things out with Purdue soon on deck. The line is reasonable compared to what you typically get. Give me Gonzaga in a home beat down.
Randy’s Pick Gonzaga Bulldogs -14.5
