The UTSA Roadrunners and Minnesota Golden Gophers face on Friday in a college basketball showdown at Williams Arena.
UTSA Opens Up Season with Win
UTSA faced off against Western Illinois in the first game and they sure looked impressive. UTSA scored 78 points against Western Illinois in the first game and they were able to win by ten points. UTSA scored 78 points and the defense gave up only 68 points. It took overtime but in that period they gave up only three points on the way to the victory. Christian Tucker had a strong game finishing with 18 points, eight assists, and three rebounds. In this game UTSA is going to need the defense to step up in a big way.
An Minnesota Win Second Game?
Minnesota isn’t expected to win many games this season so every game they win in non-conference is huge. In the first game of the season the Gophers faced off against Bethune Cookman, and they scored 80 points on the way to the 20 point victory. Minnesota scored 46 points in the first half and they never looked back on the way to the victory. Minnesota was led by Dawson Garcia who finished with 23 points and 14 rebounds. Parker Fox has missed the last two seasons because of torn ACLs but in 15 minutes he finished with seven points, one rebound, and one assist.
Shane’s Free Pick
UTSA is going to keep this game close. This Minnesota team isn’t as good as they showed in the first game, and UTSA is a more talented team than Bethune Cookman. Look for UTSA to have no issue running up the score against the Gophers defense and that is going to be the difference here as the Roadrunners are going to keep this game close. Back UTSA against the spread.
Shane’s Pick UTSA +13
