Seattle Preview
The Seattle Redhawks were 20-12 (11-7) last year and finished tied for fourth in the WAC standings with Grand Canyon and SFA. Seattle started last season very strong in the non-conference and had a solid year. The Redhawks lost to Grand Canyon in their first game of the WAC Tournament by a score of 84-79. Seattle scored 72 points per game with 37.1 rebounds per game and 11.9 assists per game, while allowing 69 points against per game last year. Cameron Tyson was the leading scorer for Seattle last year and he will return for this season. Tyson averaged 18.6 points per game, 4.4 rebounds per game, and 0.8 assists per game. Seattle shot 40.2% from the field, 71.8% on free throws, and 31.6% on three pointers last season.
Pick
Prairie View A&M has had a chance to play a game already this year, but it can hardly be counted as a game, as they played Kansas Christian. Seattle will be playing their first game of the season and they are coming off of a very solid 22-23 season. The Redhawks do return their leading scorer and will be at home for this game. I liked how the Redhawks looked for the majority of last season and I think they are going to start this season strong, but I think this spread is too big. Take Prairie View A&M with the points.
