Lipscomb vs Drake Prediction - College Basketball Picks 11/8/23

The Lipscomb Lions and Drake Bulldogs face off on Wednesday in a college basketball showdown at the Knapp Center.

Lipscomb Looked Bad in First Game

Lipscomb had a tough game against Wichita State in the first game, and they looked pretty bad. At the end of the first quarter, Lipscomb was down 44-31, and they never bounced back as they lost 76-59. In the second half, the defense was a little better, but the offense only scored 28 points. Lipscomb shot only 33.3 percent from the field and 24.3 percent from behind the three point line. They allowed Wichita State to shoot 47.7 percent from the field, and they are going to need the defense to step up here. A.J. McGinnis finished with 17 points, five rebounds, and one assist. 

Drake Looks a Lot Different

Drake finished last season with a 27-8 record overall but this team is going to look a lot different. Roman Penn, D.J. Wilkins, and Garrett Sturtz were all keys last season, but they are gone after playing five seasons for Drake. The good news for Drake is they have a few key players back, and got some solid transfers. Tucker DeVries is back and last season he averaged 19 points while shooting 37.3 percent from behind the three point line. 16 times last season he finished with at least 20 points, and he’s going to need to have a big season. The team brought in Ethan Roberts, who averaged 12.4 points per game last season for Army.
