Jackson State Looks to Bounce Back
Jackson State faced off against Memphis in the first game of the season, and they didn’t look great. Jackson State scored 77 points against Memphis, but the defense gave up 94 points and that led to the blowout defeat. At halftime, they were down 47-36, and they never could bounce back. Jackson State shot 46 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from behind the three point line. Ken Evans was the top player, finishing with 18 points, nine rebounds, and three assists. There were four different players that finished with at least 10 points.
San Diego Makes Big Comeback
San Diego comes into this game with a 1-0 record, but it took a big comeback in the second half to secure the victory. San Diego outscored Sonoma State 44-28 in the second half and ended up winning 68-64. In the first half, they only scored 24 points, and they need to find a way to get the offense going earlier. Wayne McKinney II finished with 16 points, three assists, and one rebound. There were five different players that finished with at least 11 points. San Diego shot 38.5 percent from the field and 28.6 percent from behind the three point line.
