Tennessee Preview
The Tennessee Volunteers went 25-11 (11-7) last season and finished tied for fourth in the SEC standings. The Volunteers had a great season last year and will try to return to the second weekend of the Tournament. Tennessee defeated Ole Miss in the SEC Tournament, but lost to Missouri in their second game by a score of 79-71. The Volunteers also defeated Louisiana and Duke in the NCAA Tournament, but lost to FAU by a score of 62-55. Tennessee scored 70.8 points per game with 38.4 rebounds per game and 16.7 assists per game, while allowing 57.9 points against per game last season. Santiago Vescovi was the leading scorer for Tennessee last season and he will return this year. Vescovi averaged 12.5 points per game, 4.6 rebounds per game, and 3.1 assists per game last season. Tennessee shot 43.7% from the field, 71.4% on free throws, and 32.9% on three pointers.
Pick
Tennessee Tech was one game away from making the NCAA Tournament last season, but they did lose a good amount of production from that team. Tennessee also lost some production, but they do return some very talented players. Tennessee played in a very intense exhibition game at Michigan State last week, so they should be ready to go for this one. I would like to see the Vols score on a more consistent basis, but I don’t think they will have any trouble in this game. Take Tennessee to win big.
David’s Pick Tennessee -27.5
