Texas Preview

The Texas Longhorns were 29-9 (12-6) last season and finished second in the Big 12 standings. Texas only lost one game before January, but they did hit a couple of rough spots in conference play. The Longhorns defeated Oklahoma State and TCU in the Big 12 Tournament, before beating Kansas in the Championship game. Texas went on to defeat Colgate, Penn State, and Xavier in the NCAA Tournament, before they lost to Miami in the Elite Eight by a score of 88-81. Texas scored 78 points per game with 34.1 rebounds per game and 16.2 assists per game, while allowing 67.8 points against per game last year. Texas did lose their top three leading scorers from last season, but Tyrese Hunter averaged 10.3 points per game, 3.0 rebounds per game, and 2.5 assists per game. Texas shot 46.8% from the field, 75.2% on free throws, and 33.9% on three pointers last season.
