The Central Florida Knights will head up to Eugene to face the Oregon Ducks in the second round of the Matthew Knight Arena on ESPNU. This will mark the first time UCF and Oregon face off.

Central Florida comes in at 19-14 after defeating in-state foe Florida in Gainesville in the first round. The Knights flexed on the Gators by outscoring them in both halves to win by eighteen, 67-49. UCF is scoring 72.1 points per game, while allowing 65.9 ppg, and shooting 42.7% from the field.

Central Florida has to feel good after taking down their fellow Sunshine school, and they’ll look to spoil the party in the northwest here. Freshman forward Taylor Hendricks flirted with another double-double against the Gators, and he leads UCF in scoring (15.3) and rebounding (6.9). Senior guard C.J. Kelly has scored 21 points or more in each of the last three games, and he’s second on the team at 13.3 ppg.

Oregon enters at 20-14 after defeating UC Irvine in Eugene in the first round. The Ducks wasted no time with the Anteaters, leading for the entire contest before winning by twenty-six, 84-58. Oregon is scoring 71.0 points per game, while allowing 66.7 ppg, and shooting 45.3% from the field.

Oregon executed well in the win over Irvine, and they’ll have to avoid sleeping on a traveling UCF team. The Ducks survived without senior big N’Faly Dante against the Anteaters, but after leading the team in scoring (13.4) and rebounding (8.2), his absence will be felt here. Senior guard Rivaldo Soares poured in a season-high 21 points versus UC-Irvine.
