The Temple Owls will travel down to New Orleans to take on the Tulane Green Wave in AAC play from the Fogelman Arena on ESPN+.
Temple moved to 16-14 following a home win over UCF. The Owls would trade leads with the Knights throughout the contest, and escaped with a two-point victory. Temple is scoring 70.1 points per game, while allowing 69.8 ppg, and shooting 43% from the floor.
Temple has watched their positive early start to conference play disappear after dropping five of their last seven games, and they’ll look to avoid being swept by Tulane here. The Owls are 10-7 in AAC play, with a 9-7 home record. Temple has played through sophomore gunners Khalif Battle and Damian Dunn this season. Battle leads the team in scoring, but after missing the last three contests, he may likely miss the season finally as well. Dunn stepped up and dropped a season-high 34 points against Cincy, and he’s up to 15.2 ppg.
Tulane dropped to 17-10 after losing to East Carolina over the weekend. The Green Wave fell victim to the vaunted Greenville crowd, and they’d lose to ECU by fifthteen, 83-68. Tulane is scoring 81.2 points per game, while allowing 76.1 ppg and shooting 46.7% from the floor.
Tulane stopped the bleeding with the win over ECU, and they’ll look to carry that momentum into their season finale Sunday. The Green Wave are 11-6 in AAC play, with a 11-3 home record. The Green Wave are led by the backcourt of Jared Cook and Jaylen Forbes. Cook has scored 22 points or more in eight of the last ten games, and he leads Tulane in scoring at 20.3 ppg. Forbes has been strong alongside him, and after leading Tulane with 25 points in the win over ECU, he's up to 18.9 ppg and 4.9 rpg. Junior forward Kevin Cross leads the team in rebounding (6.3), while scoring 14.6 ppg.
Temple is 17-12-1 against the spread this season, with a 15-14-1 over/under record. Tulane is 12-16 ATS this year, with a 17-10-1 o/u record.
Khalif Battle’s pending absence for this game will put the green light on the Green Wave here. Temple will be limited offensively down in the NOLA without him, and Tulane should be able to capitalize on that. Look for big games from Jalen Cook and Jaylen Forbes, and take Tulane’s spread for this AAC contest.
