The TCU Horned Frogs will head up to Norman to take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders from the Lloyd Noble Center.
TCU improved to 20-10 after defeating Texas in Fort Worth. The Horned Frogs held off a strong rally from the Longhorns to down them by two, 75-73. TCU is scoring 76.0 points per game, while allowing 67.0 ppg, and shooting 46.5% from the field.
TCU got a big time win over Texas on Wednesday, and they can book their ticket to the dance with strong close out here. The Horned Frogs are 9-8 in Big 12 play, with a 13-4 home record. Senior guard Mike Miles Jr will look to respond to a quiet outing versus Texas, and he still leads TCU in scoring at 17.2 ppg. Veteran guard Damion Baugh is one of the best passers in the country, and after dishing out nine assists or more in five of the last six games, leads the Big 12 in assists (6.1), while scoring 13.0 ppg. Former A&M forward Emanuel Miller posted a 20-point double-double in the win over the Longhorns, and he leads the team in rebounding (6.5), while scoring 13.0 ppg.
Oklahoma dropped to 14-16 after losing to Kansas State. The Sooners were outscored in both halves by the hosting Wildcats, and they’d fall by fourteen, 85-69. Oklahoma is scoring 68.0 points per game, while allowing 67.6 ppg, and shooting 46.5% from the field.
Oklahoma has been a step behind the conference once again this season, and they’ll look to avoid being swept by TCU here. The Sooners are 4-13 in Big 12 play, with a 8-7 home record. Veteran guard Grant Sheffield leads the OU in scoring at 16.0 ppg, but his performance has tailed off down the stretch. Senior big Tanner Groves grabbed a season-high 13 rebounds against ISU last weekend, and he leads the Sooners in rebounding (6.9) while scoring 9.7 ppg. Senior forward Jalen Hill is second on the team at 10.0 ppg and 5.7 rpg.
TCU is 15-14-1 against the spread this season, with a 16-14 over/under record. Oklahoma is 13-16-1 ATS this year, with a 16-13-1 o/u record.
TCU came through in their home finale, and a win here would all but book their ticket to the Big Dance. Oklahoma has been inconsistent and limited offensively, and despite their tendency to be pesky as a talented doormat in a crowded conference, I don’t think they’ll sting us one more time. The Horned Frogs should handle an inferior Sooners team, and the margin is extremely manageable. Take TCU spread for this Big 12 clash.
Corey’s Pick TCU -2.5
