The Tulsa Golden Hurricane will head to Tampa to take on the South Florida Bulls in AAC action from the Yuengling Center on ESPN+. Tulsa leads the head-to-head series, 12-1, but USF did win for the first time less than two weeks ago in Oklahoma.

Tulsa dropped to 5-23 following a road loss to UCF. The Golden Hurricane scored a season-low 14 first half points, and ended up falling to the Knights by nineteen, 68-49. Tulsa is scoring 65.7 points per game, while allowing 77.5 ppg, and shooting 41.5% from the floor.

Tulsa has dropped their last seven games and they’re just awaiting the final whistle at this point. The Golden Hurricane are 1-16 in AAC play, with 0-11 on the road this season. Leading scorer Sam Griffin (15.2) has missed the last two games, and there’s a chance he may have just shut things down for the season. Sophomore forward Bryant Selebangue has been one of the best rebounders in the conference, and after double-doubling in six of the last ten games, he’s averaging 12.1 ppg and a team-leading 9.3 rpg.

South Florida dropped to 13-16 after beating SMU at home. The Bulls rallied all the way back from a double digit halftime deficit to down the Mustangs by four, 71-67. USF is scoring 73.2 points per game, while allowing 72.6 ppg, and shooting 45.4% from the field.

South Florida picked up a pair of nice wins last week over SMU and I-4 rival UCF, and they’ll look to beat up on Tulsa again here. The Bulls are 6-10 in AAC play, with a 8-9 road record. Senior guard Tyler Harris went off for a game-high 30 points in the win against SMU last time out, and he leads the team in scoring (17.1) and assists (3.5). Junior center Russel Tchewa scored 21 points in the first win Tulsa last week, and after grabbing 10 or more boards in five of the last eight games, he’s up to 11.4 ppg and a team-lead 8.6 rpg.

Tulsa is 3-21-2 against the spread this season, with a 14-11-1 over/under record. USF is 16-11 ATS this year, with a 20-7 o/u record.

It’s hard to view South Florida as 14-point favorites under any circumstance, but this indeed marks their home finale and they will be facing one of the worst teams in the country. Tulsa comes into Tampa without their best player in Sam Griffin, and it’s very possible the game naturally gets out of hand, as it has routinely throughout the season. USF swept UCF and ECU, and they’ll look to bring out the brooms one more time with an assertive win over an inferior Tulsa team. Take South Florida’s spread for this AAC matchup.
