The Lipscomb Bisons will travel and take on the Stetson Hatters in the Quarterfinals of the Atlantic Sun Tournament from the Edmunds Center on ESPN+. Lipscomb leads the all-time series, 24-18, after winning the latest matchup in their season finale.
Lipscomb closed the regular season at 19-12 after defeating Stetson at home. The Bisons used a late rally to beat the Hatters in overtime by seven, 98-91. Lipscomb is scoring 76.4 points per game, while allowing 70.7 ppg, and shooting 47.8% from the field.
Lipscomb comes into this matchup with some momentum after winning their final three regular season games to finish fifth in the Atlantic Sun. The Bisons went 11-7 in ASUN play, with a 6-10 road record. powered by the length in their frontcourt. Sophomore forward Jacob Ognacevic went for a game-high 29 points in the finale versus Stetson, and he led Lipscomb in scoring at 17.3 for the season. Second-year guard matched his energy with 20 points in the win over the Hatters, and he’s up to 10.3 ppg. Longtime center Ahsan Asadullah led the team in rebounding (6.0), while scoring 7.1 ppg.

Stetson won three of their final four games, and they’ll look to avenge a loss to Lipscomb in their regular season finale. The Hatters went 12-6 in ASUN play, with a 9-2 home record. Sophomore guard Jalen Blackman finished as the team’s leading scorer after scoring 20 points in two of the last three games at 14.6 ppg. Junior point guard Stephan Swenson was impressive down the stretch, but after missing the last two games, his status will be worth monitoring coming into this contest.
Lipscomb is 14-12 against the spread this season, with a 11-15 over/under record. Stetson is 16-7-2 ATS this year, with a 18-6-1 o/u record.
Stetson will be out avenge an overtime loss to Lipscomb this Tuesday, and I think they’ll come out focused with revenge on their mind. The Hatters impressively kept up with Lipscomb without lead guard Stephen Swenson, and if he returns from a scary fall for the tournament, they’ll have a good shot to redeem themselves.
