The Ohio State Buckeyes will head down to Bloomington to face the Indiana Hoosiers in Big Ten action from Assembly Hall on FOX. Indiana leads the all-time series, 109-87, but the series has been back and forth over the past two decades.
Ohio State dropped to 11-9 after losing to Illinois in Champaign. The Buckeyes trailed the Illini at the break, and failed to rally back, losing 69-60. Ohio State is scoring 77.8 points per game, while allowing 66.7 ppg and shooting 47.2% from the floor.
Ohio State will look for different results this time around at Assembly Hall. The Buckeyes have sunk in Big Ten play, and at 1-6, their season is slowly fading away. The Buckeyes play through true freshman Brice Sensabaugh. The 6’6 forward has posted three straight double-doubles before going for a season-high 27 points in the win over Iowa, and he leads the team in scoring (17.4), while grabbing 5.5 rpg. Veteran forward Zed Key remains in the fold, and he’s leading the Bucks in boards (7.8), while scoring 11.8 ppg.
Indiana improved to 14-6 after beating Minnesota on the road. The Hoosiers and the Gophers found themselves in a slugfest, and IU managed to walk away with a four-point win. Indiana is scoring 79.2 points per game, while allowing 67.8 ppg, and shooting 50.8 from the field.
Indiana grinded out a win in Minneapolis, and they’ll look to keep things going in a return home. The Hoosiers have won four games in a row, and they may be able to catch OSU slipping here for a fifth straight victory. Trayce Jackson-Davis is having a historic season for IU, delivering production and memorable moments. The four-year starter scored a season-high 35 points in the road win over Illinois, and he posted a 25-point, 21-board double-double in the against Minnesota last time out. TJD leads IU in scoring (19.7) and rebounding (10.8) for the third season in a row. Fifth-year veteran Race Thompson (7.6 ppg, 5.6 rpg) returned in the win over the Gophers.
Ohio State is 8-12 against the spread this season, with a 11-9 over/under record. Indiana is 9-10-1 ATS this year, with a 12-7-1 o/u record. OSU is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall. IU is 11-5 ATS in their last 16 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.
The writings on the wall for Ohio State, and they may just be the next victims of vintage performance from Trayce Jackson-Davis. The junior forward is delivering at a high rate right now, and I feel comfortable trusting him to lead the Hoosiers to a fifth straight win over a struggling Buckeyes team. Take Indiana’s spread for this Big Ten contest.
