The Oklahoma Sooners will head down to Fort Worth to meet the TCU Horned Frogs in Big 12 action from the on ESPN+. This will mark the 30th time TCU and OU will face off, and the Sooners hold an all-time series lead of 23-6, but TCU has won the last two meetings.
Oklahoma dropped to 11-8 after losing to Baylor in Norman. The Sooners led the at the break, but they failed to hold off a late rally from the Bears and suffered a two-point defeat. Oklahoma is scoring 68.1 points per game, while allowing 63.8 ppg, and shooting 48.7% from the field.
Oklahoma’s off to a 2-5 start in Big 12 play, and this trip to Fort Worth could make things worse. This matchup will serve as a homecoming for Grant Sheffield, who leads the team in scoring (17.1) after scoring 22 points in the win over WVU. Tanner Groves double-doubled versus Kansas, and leads the Sooners in rebounding (7.4), while scoring 10.5 ppg.
TCU improved to 15-4 after beating Kansas in Lawrence. The Horned Frogs picked up their most impressive win after humbling the Jayhawks with a 23-point home loss. TCU is scoring 77.6 points per game, while allowing 64.9 ppg, and shooting 46.6% from the field.
TCU’s win in Kansas was a message sent to the conference. After handing the defending champions their worst home loss in recent memory, the Horned Frogs have to avoid a letdown here with OU. Mike Miles Jr. leads the charge for Jamie Dixon’s squad for the third season in a row. The 6’2 guard went for a season-high 33 points in the win over Baylor, and he’s averaging a career-best 18.9 ppg. Former A&M forward Emanuel Miller leads the team in rebounding (6.3), while scoring 14.2 ppg.
Oklahoma is 9-9-1 against the spread this season, with a 9-9 over/under record. Texas Christian is 11-7-1 ATS this year, with a 11-7 o/u record. The Over is 5-1 in OU’s last 6 road games. TCU is 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 home games.
After steamrolling Kansas, TCU will more than likely keep things going against a struggling OU team. If the Horned Frogs are able to neutralize Grant Sherfield, things might get ugly for the Sooners. Trust TCU’s momentum, and take their spread for this Big 12 matchup.
