The Oregon Ducks will head down to Palo Alto to take on the Stanford Cardinal in Pac-12 play from the Maples Pavilion on FS1. Oregon leads the all-time series, 82-57, after winning four of the last five meetings.
Oregon improved to 11-8 after beating Cal in Berkeley. The Ducks ran it up on the Golden Bears, and picked up their largest Power 5 win of the season, 87-58. Oregon is scoring 70.5 points per game, while allowing 66.1 ppg, and shooting 45.1% from the floor.
Oregon followed their upset win over Arizona in style, and they’ll look to make it three straight victories when they head into the palm trees this weekend. Will Richardson remains the leader of the Oregon offense. The fifth-year senior posted a double-double in the win over Cal, and he’s leading the Ducks in scoring (14.5) and assists (5.5). N’Faly Dante played big against the towers of Arizona, posting a 22-point double-double to bring his averages to 13.4 ppg, and a team-lead 7.2 rpg. SC transfer Jermaine Couisnard went off for a career-high 27 points versus the Wildcats, and he’s now second on the team at 12.8 ppg.
Stanford moved to 6-12 after beating Oregon State in Palo Alto. The Cardinal outscored the Beavers in both halves to walk away with their largest victory of the season as well, 67-46. Stanford scores 67.7 points per game, while allowing 66.3 ppg and shooting 43.3% from the field.
Stanford finally earned a win in conference play, but after a 1-7 start, all they can hope to do is play spoiler at this point. Four-year starter Spencer Jones leads the team in scoring at 12.8 after going for 18 points in the win over Oregon State. Davidson transfer Michael Jones matched his 18 points, and he’s second on the team at 10.1 ppg. Sophomore forward Harrison Ingram leads the team in rebounding (5.3) and assists (13.2), while scoring 9.2 ppg.
Oregon is 10-9 against the spread this season, with a 10-9 over/under record. Stanford is 8-10 ATS this year, with a 9-9 o/u record.
The chances of Stanford doubling up on the Beaver State are slim, and Oregon should come in eager to tack on another win in conference play. The Cardinal have the tendency to steal games in this spot, but I believe the Ducks will come through on this one.
