The Gonzaga Bulldogs will head down to Stockton to take on the Pacific Tigers in WCC play from the Gonzaga has won all 18 meetings.
Gonzaga dropped to 16-4 after losing to LMU. The Bulldogs lost their ollowing a road win over BYU. The Bulldogs found themselves in real trouble in their annual trip to Provo, but they’d escape late to defeat the Cougars one point. Gonzaga scores 86.9 points per game, while allowing 72.6 ppg, and shooting 52.6% from the floor.
The Zags closed out a great month of December by going for a season-high 111 points last time out, and they look like championship contenders again. Drew Timme came through big time in the win over Bama. The veteran big posted tied a season-high with 29 points and grabbed 10 boards in the victory, and he’s now scored 22 or more in four games in a row. Timme leads the Zags in scoring (22.7) and rebounding (8.3) again this season. Fellow senior Anton Watson joins him up front, and he posted double-doubles against Baylor and Kentucky. Julian Strawther double-doubled in the win over in-state foe Washington and he’s averaging 13.1 ppg and 7.8 rpg. Chattanooga transfer Malachi Smith has reached double figures in each of the past five games.

Pacific is off to a 3-2 start in WCC play, and they’ve got a lot of their production from the transfer portal. Oklahoma State transfer Keylan Boone went for career-highs of 27 points and 12 boards in the win over USD, and he leads Pacific in scoring (12.6) and rebounding (4.7). Former Georgetown guard Tyler Beard went for a season-high 15 points against the Toreros bring his season average to 10.2 ppg.
Gonzaga is 8-10-1 against the spread this season, with a 6-10 over/under record. Pacific is 9-9-1 ATS this year, with a 11-8 o/u record.
Well there’s no way Gonzaga drops a second straight WCC game here. The loss to LMU was unseen, and they should take out all of their anger here in Stockton, before a date with Santa Clara next weekend. This one could get ugly if the Zags don’t let their foot off the gas.
