The Kansas State Wildcats will head to Fort Worth to meet the TCU Horned Frogs in Big 12 play from on ESPN2.
Kansas State improved to 15-1 after beating Oklahoma State in Manhattan. The Wildcats fought back from a small halftime deficit to beat the Cowboys by eight points. KState is scoring 78.1 points per game, while allowing 63.5 ppg, and shooting 45.7% from the field.
Kansas State is as real as advertised, and after storming out to a 15-1 start, they should be taken seriously in the Big 12. Keyontae Johnson is coming into his own with KState. The former Florida forward went for 24 in the win over Baylor, and he’s is averaging at
TCU fell to 13-3 after losing to Texas in Austin. The HornedFrogs team-leads of 18.4 ppg and 7.1 rpg.mistakenly squandered a double-digit halftime lead, and let the Longhorns come back to pick up the 79-75 win. TCU is scoring 78.1 points per game, while allowing 63.5 ppg, and shooting 45.7% from the field.
TCU had their eleven-game win streak snatched away from them, but that’s no reason to overlook them in this battle of purple schools. The Horned Frogs suffered an inexplicable home loss to Northwestern State, and they haven’t looked back, beating Providence, Utah, Texas Tech, and Baylor along the way. Mike Miles Jr. leads the charge for Jamie Dixon’s squad for the third season in a row. The 6’2 guard scored a game-high 33 points in the win over Baylor, and he’s averaging a career-best 19.8 ppg. Senior forward Emanuel Miller leads the team in rebounding (6.3), while scoring 13.5 ppg.
KSU is 10-7 against the spread this season, with a 6-11 over/under record. TCU is 9-7 ATS this year, with a 8-8 o/u record.
TCU will look to drop a third straight game after one of the best starts in school history. The two defeats to Iowa State and Texas were painful, and they have to be sure to cross the finish line this time. KState represents no slouch either, but I like rolling with the Horned Frogs at home here.
