The Nebraska Cornhuskers and Minnesota Golden Gophers face off on Saturday in a college basketball showdown at Williams Arena. The home team has won the last six games played between the two teams.

Nebraska comes into this game with an 8-7 record overall and they have gone 6-9 against the spread. In the last game against Michigan State, the offense really struggled scoring only 56 points and that led to the 18 point defeat. Nebraska is averaging 67.3 points while their defense is giving up 65.4 points per game. The defense hasn’t been awful, but the offense hasn’t been good enough. Blaise Keita is dealing with an ankle injury and it’s unclear if he’s going to be able to go in this game. Derrick Walker is averaging 13.7 points while shooting 64 percent from the field.

On the other side of this matchup is Minnesota who sits with a 6-7 record and they have gone 4-8-1 against the spread. This is a down year for Minnesota, but they were at least competitive in the last game against Wisconsin. The defense gave up only 63 points and they lost by three points. Minnesota is averaging 63.2 points while their defense is giving up 66.5 points per game. Dawson Garcia is averaging 14.2 points while shooting 45.4 percent from the field. In this game the defense is going to need to step up again.

All the trends point towards the under, and points are going to be hard to come by here. Minnesota’s defense was strong in the last game and they are going to lockdown again in this game. The Gophers offense won’t be very strong here, and both teams are going to finish under 60 points. Back the under to cash here.
