The Iowa State Cyclones and Wisconsin Badgers face off on Sunday in the Round 32 in the NCAA Tournament at Fiserv Forum. Both teams are located close to this game, so there should be a good crowd on hand.
The Iowa State Cyclones had some struggles to end their season, but they have advanced to the next round of the NCAA Tournament. Iowa State sits with a 21-12 record overall and they were able to beat LSU in the Round of 64. The defense only gave up 54 points in the game and that was enough to lead to the five point victory. Izaiah Brockington has been the best player for Iowa State this season averaging 17.2 points while shooting 46 percent from the field and 37.6 percent from behind the three point line. In this game if Iowa State wants to find success they are going to need to hit some shots from deep. Iowa State is averaging 66.5 points while their defense is giving up 63 points per game.
On the side of this matchup is the Wisconsin Badgers who sit with a 25-7 record overall but they had lost two games in a row heading into the NCAA Tournament. On Friday Wisconsin faced off with Colgate and they were really tested, but they were able to pull away late and win 67-60. At halftime the score was 28-28. The defense was good against Colgate and it’s going to be key in this game, that the defense really steps up.. Wisconsin is averaging 70.7 points while their defense is giving up 66.5 points per game. Johnny Davis has been the best player for Wisconsin averaging 19.7 points while shooting 43.4 percent from the field and 31.7 percent from behind the three point line. Davis got out to a slow start against Colgate, but he had a big second half and that was one of the main reasons Wisconsin won.
Iowa State looked good against LSU, but this is a much different going against Wisconsin. I don’t trust this Iowa State offense, and Wisconsin is going to lock them down. It wouldn’t shock me if Iowa State has issues getting to 50 points, and that is going to be the difference as Wisconsin cruises to the victory. Back Wisconsin against the spread.
