The Arizona Wildcats and Colorado Buffaloes face off on Friday in a college basketball showdown in the Pac-12 conference tournament showdown at T-Mobile Arena. When these two teams faced off on February 26th it was Colorado that won 79-63.
Tristian da Silva was the top player for Colorado scoring 19 points. Azuolas Tubelis was the top player for Colorado scoring 15 points and eight rebounds.
Arizona comes into this game with a 29-3 record overall and they have won four games in a row. On Thursday, Arizona faced off with Stanford, and although it wasn’t the most dominant victory they were able to win by four points. Two games ago against Cal, Arizona scored 89 points and that led to the blowout victory. Arizona is averaging 84.7 points while their defense is giving up 66.7 points per game. Bennedict Mathurin has been the top player all season for Arizona averaging 17.3 points while shooting 46.8 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from behind the three point line. There are four different players that are averaging at least 10.1 points per game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Colorado Buffaloes who sit with a 21-10 record overall and they have won three games in a row. On Thursday, Colorado faced off with Oregon, and the offense was elite in that game scoring 80 points. Jabari Walker has been the top player for Colorado averaging 14.7 points while shooting 46.9 percent from the field and 32.2 percent from behind the three point line. Colorado is averaging 70.8 points while their defense is giving up 66.6 points per game. In this game if Colorado wants to win they are going to need the defense to be strong.
Arizona had issues with Stanford on Thursday, and I expect it’s going to be much of the same against Colorado. The Buffaloes' offense found success on Thursday, and they are going to run up the score again in this game against the Wildcats defense. It might not be enough for Colorado to win, but they will cover the spread.
