The Missouri State Bears and Valparaiso Beacons face off on Friday in a college basketball showdown at the Missouri Valley Tournament at the Enterprise Center. When these two teams faced off on February 12th it was Missouri State that won 84-66. Missouri State was up 41-36 at halftime, and the lead only grew in the second half.

Valpo was led by Ben Krikke who finished with 20 points and six rebounds. Missouri State was led by Isiaih Mosley who finished with 22 points and six rebounds.

Valparaiso comes into this game with a 14-17 record overall but they were able to win their first game of the Missouri Valley Tournament. Against Evansville, the offense was elite scoring 81 points and that led to the 22 point victory. Before that win on Thursday against Evansville, Valpo had lost two straight games. Valparaiso is averaging 70.8 points while their defense is giving up 71 points per game. Ben Krikke has been the top player for Valparaiso averaging 14.5 points while shooting 53.9 percent from the field. In this game if the Beacons want any chance to come away with the victory the defense is going to need to be better.

The Missouri State Bears come into this game with a 22-9 record overall and they are the number two seed in the Missouri Valley Tournament. Missouri State has won two games in a row and the offense has been good in each of the games. In the last game against Evansville, the offense scored 88 points, and that led to the blowout victory. Isaiah Mosley has been the top player for Missouri State averaging 20 points while shooting over 50 percent from the field. Gaige Prim has also been strong, averaging 16.3 points while shooting 57.2 percent from the field. As a team Missouri State is averaging 77.8 points while their defense is giving up 68.3 points per game.

Don’t let the victory over Evansville fool you, this isn’t a Valparaiso team that is very good. Missouri State is going to have no issue running up the score against the Beacons defense and this game is going to get out of hand early. Back Missouri State to cover the spread.
