Boston College faces NC State on Wednesday, February 23rd, 2022 at PNC Arena for a college basketball ACC matchup.
Boston College is coming off a 71-55 win over Florida State in its last game at home on February 21st. Boston College snapped a five-game losing streak with the win as the Eagles took advantage of an under-manned Seminoles team battling some injuries. Boston College is now 10-16 overall this season, 5-11 in conference play, and a solid 13-13-0 against the spread on the season. Boston College's leading scorer so far this season has been G Makai Ashton-Langford, who has scored 12.0 points per game and has earned 3.5 assists per game for the Eagles. Boston College as a team has scored 66.0 points per game and has shot the ball at a 41.5% clip from the field. Boston College has also allowed 67.7 points per game to its opponents.
NC State is coming off a 76-61 win over Georgia Tech in its last game on the road on February 15th. NC State has not played in over a week so the rest advantage goes to the Wolfpack. NC State also snapped a sizable losing streak with its win, as the Wolfpack had not won any of its last six games in action. NC State is now 11-16 this season with a 4-12 conference record and a miserable 7-20-0 against the spread this season. Not only is NC State one of the worst cover teams in the conference, but its 4-12 overall conference record is tied for last in the ACC standings. NC State's leading scorer so far this season has been G Dereon Seabron, who has scored 17.9 points per game, has earned 8.8 rebounds per game, and has earned 3.2 assists per game for the Wolfpack. NC State as a team has scored 73.5 points per game and has shot the ball at a 41.7% clip from the field. NC State has also allowed 74.3 points per game to its opponents as well.
NC State is a 6-point favorite and the total is set at 141.5. NC State's defense has been one of the worst in the ACC but I do not think Boston College has the scorers to keep up with the Wolfpack, especially on the road. NC State is the sizable favorite for a reason in my opinion and I think NC State's style of basketball does not bode well for BC here.
