The Stony Brook Seawolves and Hartford Hawks face off on Sunday in a college basketball showdown at the ChaseFamily Arena. These two teams just faced off on Saturday and it was Stony Brook that won 88-82.
Anthony Roberts was the best player for Stony Brook scoring 27 points. Hartford was led by Austin Williams who finished with 27 points.
Stony Brook comes into this game with a 15-11 record overall and they have gone 9-16 against the spread. The Seawolves are a team that likes to play a fast pace but at times the defense has been a big issue. Two games ago against UMBC, the defense gave up 95 points and their offense scoring only 85 wasn’t enough. Guard Anthony Roberts has been the otp player this season scoring 16.1 points while shooting 41.6 percent from the field and 32.8 percent from deep.
On the other side of this matchup is the Hartford Hawks who sit with an 8-16 record and they have gone 12-12 against the spread. Hartford had won three games in a row before losing their game on Saturday. Just four games ago against NJIT the defense gave up only 49 points and they need to play better defense. The Hawks are averaging 69.2 points while their defense is giving up 72.7 points per game. Guard Austin Williams has been the top player for Hartford averaging 17 points while shooting 51.9 percent from the field and 34.4 percent from behind the three point line.
Hartford is 4-0 against the spread in their last four games overall. Stony Brook is 1-5 against the spread in their last six games overall. The over is 7-0 in Stony Brook’s last seven road games against a team with a winning home record. The over is 10-1 in Stony Brook’s last 11 road games.
There was very little defense played on Saturday and even on tired legs it’s going to be much of the same. Look for both teams to get over 80 points again and this game is going to go well over the total. Back the over to cash.
