The TCU Horned Frogs and Baylor Bears face off on Saturday in a college basketball showdown at the Ferrell Center. When these two teams faced off on January 8th it was Baylor that won 76-64.
Baylor was Adam Flagler who finished with 22 points. TCU was led by Mike Miles who finished with 26 points and five rebounds.
TCU comes into this game with a 16-7 record and they have gone 12-9-2 against the spread. Even when TCU has lost, it seems they have been competitive. In the last game though against Iowa State, the offense could only score 51 points, and they suffered a bad loss. TCU is averaging 68.3 points while their defense is giving up 63.4 points per game. Guard Mike Miles has been the top player for TCU averaging 14.8 points while shooting 36.1 percent from the field and 29.8 percent from behind the three point line.
On the other side of this matchup is the Baylor Bears who sit with a 21-5 record and they have gone 14-11-1 against the spread. Baylor is having a strong season, but they are coming off a terrible season. In the last game against Texas Tech, the defense really struggled giving up 83 points, and that led to the 10 point defeat. Baylor is averaging 77 points while their defense is giving up 63 points per game. James Akinjo has been the top player for Baylor averaging 13.3 points while shooting 47.6 percent from the field and 46.8 percent from behind the three point line.
TCU is 6-1 against the spread in their last seven road games. Baylor is 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games against a team with a road winning percentage greater than .600. The over is 6-1 in TCU’s last seven games overall.
TCU looked terrible in the last game against Iowa State, and even though Baylor is coming off a loss, they are going to be angry coming into this game. I expect Baylor’s offense is going to run up the score and TCU isn’t going to keep this game close. Back Baylor against the spread.
