The Clemson Tigers and Louisville Cardinals face off on Saturday in an ACC college basketball showdown at the KFC Yum! Center. When these two teams faced off in 2021 it was Clemson that won 54-50. 

Clemson comes into this game with a 12-14 record overall and they have gone 13-11-2 against the spread. Clemson has really struggled as of late losing five games in a row. In the last game against Florida State they were competitive, but they gave up 81 points, and that led to the one point defeat. Clemson is averaging 72.3 points while their defense is giving up 69.1 points per game. PJ Hall has been the top player for Clemson averaging 16 points while shooting 48.8 percent from the field and 30.6 percent from behind the three point line. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Louisville Cardinals who sit with an 11-14 record and they have gone 7-17-1 against the spread. This has been an awful season for Louisville and it doesn’t look like it’s going to get any better going forward. In the last game against Miami they only scored 63 points and lost another game. Louisville is averaging 68.2 points while their defense is giving up 69.7 points per game. Malik Williams has been the top player for Louisville averaging 9.5 points while shooting 47.2 percent from the field and 31.7 percent from deep. One issue for this Louisville team is they don’t really have a star player that they can lean on.

Louisville is 0-6 against the spread in their last six games played on Saturday. Clemson is 0-3-2 against the spread in their last five games. Louisville is 3-13 against the spread in their last 16 home games. The over is 4-0 in Clemson’s last four games. The under is 8-2 in Louisville’s last 10 games following a straight up loss. 

Clemson has been struggling but they are still a more talented team than this Louisville team. The Cardinals don’t have a star player to lean on, and they are going to struggle to score against Clemson. Back Clemson against the spread.
