Harvard faces Brown on Friday, February 4th, 2022 at the Pizzitola Sports Center for a college basketball Ivy League matchup.
Harvard is coming off a 78-74 loss to Penn in its last game on January 28th at home. Harvard has now lost its last two games coming into this matchup. Harvard is always a tough team to face in the Ivy League, but this year the Crimson own an under .500 record in conference play at 2-3. Harvard is 10-7 overall this season with a 5-9-0 against the spread record as well. Harvard's leading scorer so far this season has been G Noah Kirkwood, who has scored 18.1 points per game and has earned 3.3 assists per game as well. Harvard as a team has scored 75.4 points per game and has shot the ball at a 43.3% clip from the field. Harvard has also allowed 70.3 points per game to its opponents.
Brown is coming off a 74-72 loss to Cornell in its last game on January 30th at home. Brown has lost four of its last five games as the Bears have struggled in conference play thus far. Brown had a strong showing in non-conference play, but that has not translated to Ivy League success thus far. Brown is 10-12 overall this season with a 2-5 conference record and an 11-9-0 against the spread record as well. Brown's leading scorer so far this season has been F Tamenang Choh, who has scored 14.8 points per game and has earned 8.1 rebounds per game as well. G Dan Friday leads the team in assists per game with 2.4. Brown as a team has scored 71.9 points per game and has shot the ball at a 43.3% clip from the field. Brown has also allowed 68.4 points per game to its opponents.
Harvard is a 5.5-point favorite and the total is set at 140. I like Brown as the home dog here. Harvard has looked beatable as of late and although Brown has not had much success in Ivy League play, I think the Bears are plenty talented enough to compete in this conference. I like Brown getting the points here.
