Kentucky is ranked 16th in the nation in the AP Poll. Kentucky's leading scorer so far this season has been West Virginia transfer F Oscar Tshiebwe, who has scored 15.8 points per game and has earned 15.2 rebounds per game as well. G Sahvir Wheeler leads Kentucky in assists per game. Kentucky as a team has scored 83.9 points per game and has shot the ball at a 49.7% clip from the field. Kentucky has also allowed 60.5 points per game to its opponents this season. 

LSU is coming off a 70-55 loss to Auburn in its SEC opener on December 29th on the road. It was LSU's first loss of the season and the Tigers are now 12-1 overall and 0-1 in conference play. LSU dropped to #21 in the AP Polls after the loss to Auburn, but the Tigers are 13th in KenPom ratings. LSU's leading scorer so far this season has been F Tari Eason, who has scored 15.8 points per game for the Tigers. F Darius Days leads the team in rebounds per game (8.0) and G Xavier Pinson leads the team in assists per game as well (4.5). LSU as a team has scored 77.7 points per game and has shot the ball at a 44.8% clip from the field. LSU has also allowed 55.3 points per game, making for one of the top defenses in the nation.

LSU is a 1-point favorite and the total is set at 139.5. It is surprising to see LSU only as a 1-point favorite at home here. LSU has arguably been the better team this season and with the home crowd behind it, I think the Tigers find a strong conference victory. It is going to take a lot to stop Oscar Tshibwe on the glass, but I think LSU has enough answers athlete-wise to compete.
