Yale at St. Mary's: 12/28/21 College Basketball Picks and Predictions

The Yale Bulldogs and St. Mary’s Gaels face off on Tuesday in a college basketball showdown at McKeon Pavillion. When these two teams faced off in 2012 it was St. Mary’s that came away with the 78-62 victory.  This is a key non-conference matchup for both teams. 

Yale comes into this game with a 6-7 record and they have gone 4-8 against the spread. Yale has lost two games in a row including the last game against Monmouth. The offense could only manage 60 points and that led to the defeat. Yale is averaging 72.8 points while their defense is giving up 69.8 points per game. Azar Swain has been the top player averaging 19.3 points while shooting 39.7 percent from the field There are three different players who are averaging at least 10 points per game. In this game Yale needs the offense to be good. 

On the other side of this matchup is the St. Mary’s Gaels who sit with an 11-3 record and they have gone 8-5 against the spread. In the last game against Missouri State the defense was strong giving up only 58 points and that led to the victory. The Gaels are averaging 67.5 points while their defense is giving up 58 points per game. Mathias Tass has been the top player for St. Mary’s averaging 12.7 points while shooting 63.5 percent from the field and 22.2 percent from behind the three point line. There are three different players who are averaging at least 10 points per game.
