The TCU Horned Frogs & Santa Clara Broncos will square off at the JSerra this Monday night in the SoCal Challenge.
The TCU Horned Frogs improved to 3-0 on the season after defeating the Nicholls Colonels, 63-50, this past Thursday. TCU trailed by a 30-24 margin at halftime, however, was outstanding on both ends of the court in the 2nd half and was able to pull away for the victory after taking a 54-45 lead with 4:10 left in regulation. TCU shot 37.7% from the field & 21.1% from beyond the arc while holding Nicholls to just 32.1% shooting from the field & 28.0% from beyond the arc. TCU was outrebounded by Nicolls by a 36-35 margin, however, won the turnover battle by a 19-15 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Horned Frogs was Mike Miles who had 16 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, & 3 steals.
On the season, TCU is averaging 74.3 ppg on 41.2% shooting from the field. The Horned Frogs are averaging 6.3 three-pointers per game on 30.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, TCU has been led by Mike Miles (19.3 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 4.3 apg, 2.0 spg), Emanuel Miller (11.0 ppg, 10.0 rpg, 1.3 spg), Micah Peavy (8.3 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 1.7 apg, 1.0 spg), & Francisco Farabello (8.3 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 1.7 apg).
Defensively, TCU is holding their opponents to an average of 54.0 ppg on 33.5% shooting from the field. The Horned Frogs have a rebound margin of 16.0 and a turnover margin of 1.0.
The Santa Clara Broncos improved to 4-0 on the season after defeating the Cal Poly Mustangs, 87-57, this past Friday night. Santa Clara was lights out defensively against Cal Poly and had no trouble staying undefeated after going into halftime with a 34-21 lead. Santa Clara shot 46.8% from the field & 29.2% from beyond the arc while holding Cal Poly to just 36.5% from the field & 29.2% from beyond the arc. Santa Clara outrebound Cal Poly by a 39-30 margin and won the turnover battle by a 20-12 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Broncos was Jalen Williams who had 26 points, 9 rebounds, & 1 steal.
On the season, Santa Clara is averaging 88.8 ppg on 53.8% shooting from the field. The Broncos are averaging 8.5 three-pointers per game on 37.8% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Santa Clara has been led by Jalen Williams (19.8 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 3.5 apg, 1.8 spg), Josip Vrankic (16.3 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 6.0 apg, 2.0 spg), PJ Pipes (15.3 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 4.5 apg, 1.8 spg), & Keshawn Justice (14.5 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 3.5 apg, 1.0 spg).

The Broncos are 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 games and 12-0 straight up in their last 12 November games. The Horned Frogs are just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 Monday games.
TCU comes into this game with a perfect 3-0 record, however, this is not a great team the Horned Frogs can struggle to score the basketball and have been nothing more than average when it comes to creating turnovers. Santa Clara in my opinion is one of the best teams in the WCC, outside of Gonzaga, and have a solid one-two punch in Jalen Williams & Josip Vrankic that has the Broncos ranked t-19th in scoring offense & 7th in FG%. Vrankic didn’t play against Cal Poly, however, I can’t find anything stating that he is going to miss this one and after seeing TCU struggle in the first have against Nicolls, I think Santa Clara will have too much offense for TCU to keep up with and that Santa Clara wins this game outright. Good Luck!
