Colorado State shot 52.0% from the field and 35.0% from beyond the arc while Fresno State shot 42.1% from the field and 41.7% from beyond the arc. Colorado State was outrebounded by Fresno State by a 33-32 margin, however, did win the turnover battle by a 13-10 margin. Defensively, Colorado State is holding their opponents to an average of 65.6 ppg on 41.2% shooting from the field. The Rams have a rebound margin of 2.6 and a turnover margin of -0.2.
The 2-seed Utah State Aggies (19-7) advanced to the Semifinals of the Mountain West Championship after defeating the 7-seed UNLV Rebels, 74-53, on Thursday night. Utah State struggled a bit in the 1st half and went into halftime tied at 24-all, however, the Aggies were outstanding on both ends of the court in the 2nd half and was able to pull away after taking a 57-41 lead with 7:52 left in regulation. Utah State outrebounded UNLV by a 45-32 margin and won the turnover battle by a 12-10 margin in the victory. The Rams are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 neutral site games, however, are just 7-20-1 ATS in their last 28 Friday games. The Aggies are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 neutral site games and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games following a ATS win.
Utah State has been playing some solid basketball as of late, however, they certainly will have their hands full with an underrated Colorado State team that certainly has the talent to become the Mountain West Champions. Colorado State was able to split their regular season series at Utah State, which included an 84-76 win, and as I think the Rams offense, which ranks 72nd in scoring offense & 24th in FG%, will be able to have success tonight against the Aggies defense, I think the play here is to take the Rams and the points. Good Luck!
