Ohio faces Kent State on Tuesday, March 2nd at the M.A.C Center for an NCAA basketball MAC matchup.
Ohio is coming off an 86-66 loss to Buffalo in its last game at home on February 27th. Ohio snapped its six-game winning streak with the blowout loss to Buffalo on Saturday. Ohio is currently in fifth place in the MAC standings, as the Bobcats are 13-7 overall and 9-5 in MAC play this season. Ohio is also 11-7 against the spread this season. Ohio's leading scorer so far this season has been G Jason Preston, who has scored 15.4 points per game for the Bobcats. Ohio as a team has scored 80.2 points per game and has shot the ball at a 48.4% clip from the field. Ohio has also allowed 73.7 points per game to its opponents as well.
Kent State is coming off a 64-51 win over Miami Ohio in its last game on the road on February 27th. Kent State has now won four of its last five games and will look to continue its hot play in these last two regular-season contests. Kent State is 15-6 overall and 12-5 in MAC play this season, putting the Golden Flashes in second place in the conference standings. Kent State is also 11-8-1 against the spread this season. Kent State's leading scorer so far this season has been F Danny Pippen, who has scored 19.3 points per game for the Golden Flashes. Kent State as a team has scored 77.8 points per game and has shot the ball at a 44.8% clip from the field. Kent State has also allowed 70.0 points per game to its opponents as well.
Kent State opens as a 4-point favorite and the total is set at 150.5. Kent State is rolling, but Ohio should be able to compete in this game for a majority of the contest. I do believe the points could be in play here, therefore I will take my four points with Ohio on the road in what I see as a bounce-back spot for the Bobcats.
