The Western Illinois Leathernecks will travel to the Mabee Center to take on the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles this Sunday night in College Basketball action.

The Western Illinois Leathernecks will look to avoid a 2-game sweep at the hands of the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles after the Leathers were defeated by the Golden Eagles by an 85-81 margin on Saturday night. Western Illinois held a 77-67 lead with just 6:58 left in regulation, however, the Leathernecks offense went cold down the stretch and Western Illinois could not fight back after Oral Roberts took an 80-78 lead with 1:45 left in regulation. Western Illinois shot 42.6% from the field and 51.6% from beyond the arc while Oral Roberts shot 44.8% from the field and 39.3% from beyond the arc. Western Illinois outrebounded Oral Roberts by a 44-32 margin, however, the Leathernecks lost the turnover battle by a 12-8 margin in the loss. Leading the way for the Leathernecks was Colton Sandage (32 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 1 steal) while the Golden Eagles were led by Max Abmas (41 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 2 steals).

Coming into their game against Oral Roberts on Saturday, Western Illinois was averaging 73.5 ppg on 41.2% shooting from the field. The Leathernecks are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games. The Golden Eagles are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 Sunday games, however, are just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games.

Both Western Illinois and Oral Roberts play very little defense as coming into Saturday’s game, the Leathernecks ranked just 317th in scoring defense while the Golden Eagles ranked just 293rd. The Over/Under was rightly set at a very high 164 mark, however, we still saw it hit the over on Saturday and as Oral Roberts is one of the best three-point shooting teams in College Basketball (1st in three-pointers made per game; 9th in 3P-FG%) and is shooting an incredible 81.0% from the FT line, my initial lean as lone as the Over/Under is similar to what we saw on Saturday, is to take the Over. Please check back for my official pick when the line has been released.

Update (2/28) - The Over/Under was set at 162 and I'm still on the over. Good Luck!
