Buffalo faces Ohio on Saturday, February 27th at the Convocation Center for an NCAA basketball MAC matchup.
Buffalo is coming off an 85-73 win over Central Michigan in its last game at home on February 25th. Buffalo was able to earn the double-digit win but could not cover the large 19-point spread. Buffalo's offense has excelled recently, scoring at least 70 points in all five of its last five games (four of those games scoring over 85). Buffalo is 11-7 overall and 9-5 in MAC play this season. Buffalo's leading scorer so far this season has been F Jeenathan Williams, who has scored 17.9 points per game for the Bulls. Buffalo as a team has scored 82.8 points per game and has shot the ball at a 46.3% clip from the field. Buffalo has also allowed 73.1 points per game to its opponents as well.
Ohio is coming off a 19-point victory over Eastern Michigan at home on February 25th by the final score of 86-67. Ohio has now won six straight games, despite having to take a COVID-19 break in the middle of it. Ohio will be a force to be reckoned with in the MAC tournament if it continues to play this well. Ohio is 13-6 overall and 9-4 in MAC play this season. Ohio's leading scorer so far this season has been G Jason Preston, who has scored 15.8 points per game for the Bobcats. Ohio as a team has scored 80.8 points per game and has shot the ball at a 49.1% clip from the field. Ohio has also allowed 73.0 points per game to its opponents as well.
Ohio opens as a 1-point favorite and the total is set at 158.5. I think this will be a great game between two of the better teams in the MAC, as well as two of the strongest offenses in the conference. For that reason, I will take the over, as I could definitely see both teams in the 80s in this one.
