Middle Tennessee had no answers on the defensive end for the high-powered Marshall offense and could not fight back after the Thundering Herd took a 78-65 lead with 7:30 left in regulation. Middle Tennessee shot 50.0% from the field and 50.0% from beyond the arc while Marshall shot 60.7% from the field and 35.7% from beyond the arc. Middle Tennessee and Marshall each pulled down 29 rebounds while Middle Tennessee committed 15 turnovers in the loss. The Blue Raiders are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games following a straight up loss and 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Monarchs are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record, however, are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games.
Middle Tennessee has struggled offensively this season, ranking just 319th in scoring offense & 323rd in FG%, however, the Blue Raiders offense has shown more signs of life as over their last 4 games (2-2 record), the Blue Raiders are averaging 75.6 ppg. Old Dominion is a tough team to play on their home court, however, the Monarchs are not the most overpowering offensive team as the Blue Raiders rank just 230th in scoring offense & 332nd in 3P-FG% and as I think the Blue Raiders will be able to keep this one somewhat close, I am taking Middle Tennessee and the double-digit points. Good Luck!
