The Robert Morris Colonials will travel to Calihan Hall to take on the Detroit Mercy Titans this Thursday night in the first round of the Horizon League Championship.
The Robert Morris Colonials (4-14) will look to avoid their 3rd consecutive loss at the hands of the Detroit Mercy Titans (11-9) after the Colonials were defeated by the Titans, 80-61, this past Saturday. Robert Morris led by a 39-32 margin at halftime, however, Detroit dominated Robert Morris on both ends of the court throughout the 2nd half and pulled away after the Titans took a 56-46 lead with 12:55 left in regulation. Robert Morris shot 45.3% from the field and 34.8% from beyond the arc while Detroit shot 50.9% from the field and 42.9% from beyond the arc. Robert Morris was outrebounded by Detroit by a 31-29 margin while also losing the turnover battle by a 12-8 margin in the loss. Leading the way for the Colonials was Charles Bain (18 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists) while the Titans were led by Antonine Davis (29 points, 3 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal).
On the season, Robert Morris is averaging 72.3 ppg on 44.1% shooting from the field. The Colonials are averaging 7.4 three-pointers per game on 35.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Robert Morris has been led by AJ Bramah (21.0 ppg, 10.3 rpg, 1.6 apg, 1.4 spg), Jon Williams (10.3 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 4.9 apg), Kahliel Spear (9.2 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 1.2 apg, 1.2 bpg), & Dante Treacy (6.9 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 4.8 apg, 1.1 spg).
Defensively, Robert Morris is allowing their opponents to average 78.4 ppg on 46.4% shooting from the field. The Colonials have a rebound margin of -3.1 and a turnover margin of 0.2.

Defensively, Detroit Mercy is allowing their opponents to average 74.2 ppg on 46.3% shooting from the field. The Titans have a rebound margin of -1.3 and a turnover margin of 1.4.
The Colonials are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Thursday games, however, are jus t1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Titans are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games.
Robert Morris is coming off back-to-back losses to Detroit this past weekend and it is hard to imagine the Colonials having better success on the road in this one, especially after losing their top scorer in AJ Bramah, who decided to transfer out of the program late in the season. Detroit has been outstanding at home as of late, and between the fact that they arguably have the best offensive player in the Horizon in Antoine Davis and that their offense should have plenty of success against the Colonials 320th ranked scoring defense, I’m taking Detroit to cover this large home spread. Good Luck!
