The George Washington Colonials will travel to EagleBank Arena to take on the George Mason Patriots this Wednesday night in College Basketball action.

The George Washington Colonials improved to 4-9 on the season after defeating the Rhode Island Rams, 78-70, this past Sunday. George Washington had not played for more than a month due to covid-19 protocols, however, the Colonials offense did not look rusty at all and George Washington was able to pull way late after closing out the final 3:39 of regulation on a 10-2 run. George Washington shot 50.9% from the field and 42.1% from beyond the arc while Rhode Island shot 45.0% from the field and 31.3% from beyond the arc. George Washington outrebounded Rhode Island by a 34-32 margin and forced 10 turnovers in the victory. Leading the way for the Colonials was James Bishop who had 28 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, & 1 steal.

On the season, George Washington is averaging 72.8 ppg on 46.0% shooting from the field. The Colonials are averaging 6.5 three-pointers per game on 34.3% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, George Washington has been led by James Bishop (20.5 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 5.5 apg), Jamison Battle (19.1 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 1.1 spg), Ricky Lindo Jr. (12.3 ppg, 10.0 rpg, 1.7 apg, 3.0 spg), & Matthew Moyer (10.1 ppg, 9.6 rpg). George Washington was without Matthew Moyer against Rhode Island and he is currently out indefinitely due to an undisclosed reason.

Defensively, George Washington is allowing their opponents to average 73.5 ppg on 45.1% shooting from the field.

The George Mason Patriots won their 2nd straight game and improved to 10-8 on the season after defeating the VCU Rams, 79-76 in OT, this past Saturday. George Mason was able to fight back from a 10-point halftime deficit to force OT and was able to hold off the Rams for the upset victory after taking a 75-70 lead with just :59 seconds left in OT. George Mason shot 45.3% from the field and 17.6% from beyond the arc while VCU shot 45.6% from the field and 29.4% from beyond the arc. George Mason outrebounded VCU by a 42-26 margin and forced 19 turnovers in the victory. Leading the way for the Patriots was Josh Oduro who had 27 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, & 1 block.

On the season, George Mason is averaging 70.9 ppg on 43.0% shooting from the field. The Patriots are averaging 7.3 three-pointers per game on 32.4% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, George Mason has been led by Jordan Miller (15.9 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 1.9 apg), Javon Greene (11.4 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.8 spg), Josh Oduro (10.8 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 1.3 apg), & Tyler Kolek (10.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 2.3 apg, 1.4 spg).

Defensively, George Mason is allowing their opponents to average 70.4 ppg on 43.5% shooting from the field. The Patriots have a rebound margin of 2.3 and a turnover margin of 0.7.

The Colonials are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall, however, are just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games. The Patriots are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400, however, are just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS win.

George Mason arguably picked up their best victory of the season at VCU in their last game, however, I am a bit concerned that it is pushing up this line higher than it should be. George Mason is the better team, however, they have not been overly dominant on either end of the ball this season as they rank 188th in both scoring offense & defense. George Washington was impressive against Rhode Island in their last game and as I think their offense, which ranks 139th in scoring offense & t-72nd in FG%, will be able to find some success in this one, I think the play here is to take the Colonials and the points. Good Luck!
