The Washington Huskies will travel to Desert Financial Arena to take on the Arizona State Sun Devils this Tuesday night in College Basketball action.
The Washington Huskies improved to 5-17 on the season after defeating the California Golden Bears, 62-51, this past Saturday night. Washington was outstanding on the defensive end against California and was able to pull away late in the 2nd half after taking a 55-46 lead with 5:51 left in regulation. Washington shot 42.9% from the field and 34.8% from beyond the arc while holding California to just 26.7% shooting from the field and 17.6% from beyond the arc. Washington was outrebounded by California by a 40-38 margin and forced 10 turnovers in the victory. Leading the way for the Huskies was Quade Green who had 17 points, 6 rebounds, & 3 assists.
On the season, Washington is averaging 66.1 ppg on 41.8% shooting from the field. The Huskies are averaging 7.4 three-pointers per game on 33.3% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Washington has been led by Quade Green (14.9 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 3.4 apg, 1.0 spg), Marcus Tsohonis (10.5 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 1.3 apg), Jamal Bey (9.7 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 1.0 apg, 1.0 spg), & Erik Stevenson (9.0 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 1.8 apg, 1.2 spg).
Defensively, Washington is allowing their opponents to an average of 75.5 ppg on 44.8% shooting from the field. The Huskies have a rebound margin of -8.6 and a turnover margin of -1.2.
The Arizona State Sun Devils lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 7-11 on the season after being defeated by the UCLA Bruins, 80-79, this past Saturday night. Arizona State went into halftime with a 41-34 lead and held a lead for most of the 2nd half, however, the Sun Devils offense struggled down the stretch and the Bruins were able to get win after a Jaylen Clark hit a game-winning FT with just 0.1 second left in regulation. Arizona State shot 45.9% from the field and 50.0% from beyond the arc while UCLA shot 47.4% from the field and 38.9% from beyond the arc. Arizona State won the turnover battle by a 11-5 margin, however, was outrebounded by the Bruins by a 37-25 margin in the loss. Leading the way for the Sun Devils was Remy Martin who had 25 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, & 1 block.
On the season, Arizona State is averaging 74.8 ppg on 43.5% shooting from the field. The Sun Devils are averaging 7.4 three-pointers per game on 33.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Arizona State has been led by Remy Martin (20.3 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 3.9 apg, 1.3 spg), Josh Christopher (14.3 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 1.4 apg, 1.5 spg), Alonzo Verge Jr. (13.0 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 3.4 apg, 1.1 spg), & Jalen Graham (7.9 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 1.6 bpg).
Defensively, Arizona State is allowing their opponents to average 77.4 ppg on 45.7% shooting from the field. The Sun Devils have a rebound margin of -8.7 and a turnover margin of 4.7.
The Huskies are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following a straight up win and 8-20 ATS in their last 28 road games. The Sun Devils are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 Tuesday games and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS win.
It has been a tough season for both teams, however, there is no doubt that Arizona State has more talent, led by Remy Martin. Washington comes into this game with just a 1-6 road record and has struggled on both ends of the court as they rank just 288th in scoring offense & 284th in scoring defense. Arizona State is led by their offense, which ranks 98th in scoring offense, and I think the Sun Devils have no issue putting up 85-90 points in this one, I'm taking Arizona State to cover this large home spread. Good Luck!
