The Florida Gators will travel to Auburn Arena to take on the Auburn Tigers this Tuesday night in College Basketball action.
The Florida Gators snapped their 2-game losing streak and improved to 11-6 on the season after defeating the Georgia Bulldogs, 70-63, this past Saturday. Florida was outstanding defensively against Georgia and had no trouble securing the victory after taking a 37-23 halftime lead. Florida shot 44.9% from the field and 26.1% from beyond the arc while Georgia shot just 37.5% from the field and 20.0% from beyond the arc. Florida lost the turnover battle by a 20-12 margin, however, did outrebound Georgia by a 40-31 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Gators was Tre Mann who had 13 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, & 3 steals.
On the season, Florida is averaging 76.3 ppg on 46.7% shooting from the field. The Gators are averaging 7.0 three-pointers per game on 35.5% shooting from the field. Offensively, Florida has been led by Tre Mann (14.1 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 3.6 apg, 1.6 spg), Colin Castleton (13.3 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 2.6 bpg), Noah Locke (11.0 ppg, 2.6 rpg), & Tyree Appleby (10.8 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 3.3 apg, 1.6 spg).
Defensively, Florida is allowing their opponents to average 70.8 ppg on 42.3% shooting from the field. The Gators have a rebound margin of 1.4 and a turnover margin of 0.4.
The Auburn Tigers lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 11-12 on the season after being defeated by the LSU Tigers, 104-80, this past Saturday. Auburn was dominated on both ends of the court against LSU and could not fight back after going into halftime trailing by a 50-34 margin. Auburn shot 37.0% from the field and 25.0% from beyond the arc while LSU shot 53.4% from the field and 50.0% from beyond the arc. Auburn was outrebounded by LSU by a 47-39 margin while each team committed 12 turnovers. Leading the way for the Tigers was Sharife Cooper who had 26 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, & 1 steal.
On the season, Auburn is averaging 78.9 ppg on 44.3% shooting from the field. The Tigers are averaging 9.2 three-pointers per game on 33.3% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Auburn has been led by Sharife Cooper (20.2 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 8.1 apg, 1.0 spg), Allen Flanigan (14.2 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 3.0 apg), Jaylin Williams (10.4 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.5 bpg), & JT Thor (9.4 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 1.3 bpg).
Defensively, Auburn is allowing their opponents to average 77.3 ppg on 44.0% shooting from the field. The Tigers have a rebound margin of 3.1 and a turnover margin of -2.0.
The Gators are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games following a ATS loss, however, are just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Tigers are 4-1-2 ATS in their last 7 Tuesday games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.
Auburn is an exciting team to watch, especially with Sharife Cooper leading their 71st ranked scoring offense, however, the Tigers are one of the worst defensive teams in the county and come into this game ranked 305th in scoring defense & 206th in defensive FG%. Florida picked up a much-needed win against Georgia and between the fact that the Gators have shown they can win on the road with a victory at West Virginia at the end of January and that their offense should be able to put up plenty of points, I am taking Florida and the point in this one. Good Luck!
