The Seton Hall Pirates won their 4th straight game and improved to 13-8 on the season after defeating the DePaul Blue Demons, 60-52, this past Wednesday night. Seton Hall was outstanding on the defense end against DePaul and was able to hold off the Blue Demons late after taking a 53-48 lead with just 5:07 left in regulation. Seton Hall shot 37.3% from the field and 30.8% from beyond the arc while DePaul shot 37.7% from the field and 27.3% from beyond the arc. Seton Hall was outrebounded by DePaul by a 45-36 margin, however, did win the turnover battle by a 20-12 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Pirates was Sandro Mamukelashvili who had a double-double with 25 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks, & 2 steals.
On the season, Seton Hall is averaging 73.0 ppg on 45.3% shooting from the field. The Pirates are averaging 7.0 three-pointers per game on 33.3% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Seton Hall has been led by Sandro Mamukelashvili (18.0 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 3.2 apg, 1.1 spg), Jared Rhoden (14.9 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 2.0 apg, 1.3 spg), Myles Cale (12.5 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 1.0 spg), & Shavar Reynolds (7.4 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 4.3 apg, 1.7 spg).
Defensively, Seton Hall is allowing their opponents to average 69.2 ppg on 42.9% shooting from the field. The Pirates have a rebound margin of 0.7 and are averaging 6.5 steals per game.
The Georgetown Hoyas improved to 6-10 on the season after defeating the Butler Bulldogs, 78-63, this past Saturday. Georgetown dominated Butler on both ends of the court throughout the game and had no trouble securing the victory after going into halftime with a 38-22 lead. Georgetown shot 52.2% from the field and 50.0% from beyond the arc while Butler shot 39.0% from the field and 37.5% from beyond the arc. Georgetown outrebounded Butler by a 38-20 margin and forced 15 turnovers in the victory. Leading the way for the Hoyas was Jahvon Blair who had 17 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, & 2 steals.
On the season, Georgetown is averaging 71.6 ppg on 42.4% shooting from the field. The Hoyas are averaging 8.8 three-pointers per game on 35.8% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Georgetown has been led by Jahvon Blair (17.0 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 4.4 apg), Jamorko Pickett (12.3 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.1 spg), Qudus Wahab (11.8 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 1.9 bpg), & Donald Carey (8.8 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 1.8 apg).
Defensively, Georgetown is allowing their opponents to average 73.2 ppg on 42.0% shooting from the field. The Hoyas are averaging 8.8 three-pointers per game on 35.8% shooting from beyond the arc.
The Pirates are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record. The Hoyas are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 Saturday games and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall.
Georgetown has played better as of late, winning 3 of their last 5 games, however, this is still not a great team this season and the Hoyas comes into this game ranked just 175th in scoring offense, 250th in FG%, & 246th in scoring defense. Seton Hall has a great player in Sandro Mamukelashvili and between the fact that the Pirates are a better team on both ends of the court and have a winning road record, I am taking Seton Hall to cover this small road spread. Good Luck!
