UNLV faces San Jose State in its last game on Friday, February 19th at Provident Credit Union Event Center for an NCAA basketball Mountain West matchup.
UNLV is coming off a 61-59 loss to Boise State in its last game on the road on February 13th. UNLV has struggled as of late, losing back-to-back games and three of its last five games as well. UNLV has a losing record on the year at 8-11 as well as a 5-7 conference record. UNLV will be playing San Jose State for the first time this season, and the two teams will play again on February 21st. UNLV's leading scorer so far this season has been G Bryce Hamilton, who has scored 18.4 points per game for the Runnin' Rebels. UNLV as a team has scored 70.3 points per game and has shot the ball at a 44.3% clip from the field. UNLV has also allowed 67.7 points per game to its opponents as well.
San Jose State is coming off a 77-55 loss to San Diego State in its last game on the road on February 10th. San Jose State has had a miserable season, as the Spartans only have five wins on the year, and only three of those wins were against Mountain West completion. San Jose State is 5-13 and was actually riding a three-game win streak before losing two blowout games to San Diego State last week. San Jose State's leading scorer so far this season has been F Ralph Agee, who has scored 10.8 points per game for the Spartans. San Jose State as a team has scored 65.4 points per game and has shot the ball at a 39.0% clip from the field. San Jose State has also allowed 80.8 points per game to its opponents as well.
UNLV opens as a 10-point favorite and the total is set at 147. UNLV should have no issues winning this game, and I do believe the Runnin' Rebels can cover this spread as well. UNLV cannot let games like these pass it by, as San Jose State is one of, if not the weakest team the Runnin' Rebels have faced in a D1 setting this year. I will lay the lumber on the road.
