The Northern Illinois Huskies hit the road for a Tuesday matinee game against the Akron Zips. NIU defeated Akron 67-65 in early January as Darius Beane knocked down the game-winning jumper with one second left. However, Akron has won six of the last 10 meetings with NIU and leads the all-time series 27-13. The Zips also own a 17-2 record against the Huskies in Akron.
Northern Illinois (2-11, 1-7 MAC) is playing for just the second time since Jan. 16.
