Fresno State faces Nevada on Sunday, January 17th at Lawlor Events Center for an NCAA basketball Mountain West matchup.

Fresno State and Nevada just played game one of their two-game series on Friday night in Nevada. In that game, Nevada was victorious by the final score of 73-57. Fresno State kept things close in the first half of that game but totally collapsed in the second half to earn a double-digit loss at the hands of a conference rival. Nevada has not been the best shooting team this season, but the Wolf Pack's shots were on fire on Friday night. Nevada made 51.9% of its shots from the field and nailed 10-23 shots from three-point range. Fresno State shot 37.5% from the field and a measly 28% from long range. Fresno State's leading scorer in the loss was F Orlando Robinson, who had 15 points for the Bulldogs. Nevada's leading scorer in the victory was G Grant Sherfield, who had 23 points.

Fresno State is now 5-4 on the year and is 3-4 in conference play so far in the Mountain West. Fresno State's leading scorer and rebounder this season has been F Orlando Robinson, who averages 17.8 points per game and earns 10.1 rebounds per contest as well for the Bulldogs. Fresno State as a team has scored 72.0 points per game and has shot the ball at a 44.4% clip from the field. Fresno State has also allowed 67.7 points per game to its opponents.

Nevada is 9-5 overall this season and 4-3 in Mountain West this season. Despite this being a kind of rebuilding season for Nevada, the Wolf Pack have been at least competitive in most of their games. Nevada's leading scorer so far this season has been Grant Sherfield, who has scored 18.1 points per game. Nevada as a team has scored 71.1 points per game and has allowed 66.0 points per game to its opponents as well.

Nevada opens as a 7.5-point favorite and the total is set at 136. I like Fresno State to rebound from the bad loss on Friday and at least cover this number on the road on Sunday afternoon. It is tough for a team to beat the same team twice, we hear that all the time, but it is extremely hard for a team to cover the number in back-to-back games as well.
