The Duquesne Dukes will travel to the Reilly Center to take on the St. Bonaventure Bonnies this Friday night in College Basketball action.

The Duquesne Dukes dropped to 3-4 on the season after being defeated by the Dayton Flyers, 72-63, this past Wednesday night. Duquesne went into halftime with a 34-33 lead, however, the Dukes offense struggled in the 2nd half and could not fight back after Dayton took a 59-41 lead with 9:31 left in regulation. Duquesne shot 40.0% from the field and 17.6% from beyond the arc while Dayton shot 43.1% from the field and 41.7% from beyond the arc. Duquesne outrebounded Dayton by a 38-37 margin and committed 9 turnovers in the loss. Leading the way for the Dukes was Marcus Weathers who had 19 points, 8 rebounds, & 1 assist.

On the season, Duquesne is averaging 64.9 ppg on 40.6% shooting from the field. The Dukes are averaging 6.0 three-pointers per game on 27.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Duquesne has been led by Marcus Weathers (14.0 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 1.1 apg), Tavian Dunn-Martin (11.4 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 2.0 apg, 1.6 spg), Sincere Carry (9.0 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 4.2 apg, 1.6 spg), & Michael Hughes (7.7 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 1.7 apg, 1.6 bpg). Duquesne will not have Sincere Carry available as he has decided to transfer from the Dukes program.

Defensively, Duquesne is holding their opponents to an average of 65.7 ppg on 42.9% shooting from the field. The Dukes have a rebound margin of 0.6 and a turnover margin of 0.7.

The St. Bonaventure Bonnies won their 3rd straight game and improved to 5-1 on the season after defeating the Fordham Rams, 68-54, this past Wednesday night. St. Bonaventure was outstanding defensively against Fordham and pulled away for the victory after taking a 56-47 lead with 11:21 left in regulation. St. Bonaventure shot 43.6% from the field and 28.6% from beyond the arc while holding Fordham to just 38.5% from the field and 29.0% from beyond the arc. St. Bonaventure outrebounded Fordham by a 43-24 margin and forced 11 turnovers in the victory. Leading the way for the Bonnies was Jaren Holmes who had 26 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, & 2 steals.

On the season, St. Bonaventure is averaging 72.5 ppg on 44.5% shooting from the field. The Bonnies are averaging 5.7 three-pointers per game on 31.8% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, St. Bonaventure has been led by Jaren Holmes (16.3 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 2.2 apg), Kyle Lofton (13.3 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 5.8 apg, 1.2 spg), Osun Osunniyi (10.7 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 2.5 apg, 1.2 spg), & Dominick Welch (10.5 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 2.8 apg, 1.3 spg).

Defensively, St. Bonaventure is holding their opponents to an average of 63.8 ppg on 40.7% shooting from the field. The Bonnies have a rebound margin of 6.5 and a turnover margin of 2.2.

The Dukes are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Bonnies are 16-4-1 ATS in their last 21 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 home games.

Duquesne seems to have some issues with their program as they recently lost three players who decided to leave or transfer, including one of their best players in Sincere Carry, and have really struggled offensively as of late as the Dukes didn’t crack 50 points in recent games against Davidson & Fordham. St. Bonaventure has been led by their defense which ranks 41st in scoring defense & 77th in defensive FG% and as I think they have enough offensive firepower with the duo of Jaren Holmes & Kyle Lofton, I think the Bonnies do enough to win by double-digits and cover this large home spread. Good Luck!
