The Southern Utah Thunderbirds and Eastern Washington Eagles face off on Thursday in a college basketball showdown at Reese Court. 

The Southern Utah Thunderbirds have found all kinds of success this season and their only loss came a while back against Loyola Marymount. Since that point. Southern Utah has won nine games in a row and they have only failed to cover the spread in two of those lined games since that point in the season. Each of the last two games against Idaho it was the offense that was the difference. In that last game against Idaho the offense scored 83 points. On the season, Southern Utah is averaging 79.4 points per game while their defense is giving up 74 points. Guard Tevion Jones has been the player this season for Southern Utah putting up 19.2 points while shooting 43.1 percent from the floor. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Eastern Washington Eagles who currently sit with a 2-4 record overall, but they have won two of their last three games. In the last game against Northern Arizona, the offense put up 80 points Eastern Washington  is averaging 68.4 points per game while their defense is giving up 70.8 points per game. Eastern Washington is shooting 43.5 percent from the field and 32 percent from behind the three point line. Forward Tanner Groves has been the best player for Eastern Washington averaging 14.5 points while shooting 55.2 percent from the field and 23.1 percent from behind the three point line.

The over is 7-1-1 in SUU’s last eight games against the Big SKy. The over is 18-6 in Southern Utah’s last 24 games overall THe under is 7-3 in Eastern Washington’s last 10 games overall. The over is 6-2-1 in Eastern Washington’s last 10 games overall. 

Southern Utah is getting way too many points and this is one I think they can actually win outright. Take the points with Southern Utah if you want to play it safe, but a small bet on the Thunderbirds money line is also a nice play. .
