The Longwood Lancers will travel to Winthrop Coliseum to take on the Winthrop Eagles this Thursday night in College Basketball action.

Longwood trailed by a 36-28 margin at halftime, however, the Lancers were lights out offensively in the 2nd half and was able to pull away after a 7-0 run gave Longwood a 69-58 lead with 2:22 left in regulation. Longwood outrebounded Campbell by a 30-23 margin and committed just 7 turnovers in the victory. Leading the way for the Lancers was Deshaun Wade who had 22 points & 4 rebounds.

Defensively, Longwood is allowing their opponents to average 70.7 ppg on 46.3% shooting from the field. The Lancers have a rebound margin of -0.1 and a turnover margin of -0.9.
The Winthrop Eagles improved to 11-0 on the season after defeating the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs, 91-83, this past Sunday. Winthrop had no trouble generating offense against the Gardner-Webb defense and pulled away in the 2nd half after a 16-1 Eagles run gave Winthrop a 73-57 lead with 6:30 left in regulation. Winthrop shot 58.8% from the field and 47.6% from beyond the arc while Gardner-Webb shot 46.2% from the field and 25.0% from beyond the arc. Winthrop outrebounded Gardner-Webb by a 35-29 margin and forced 13 turnovers in the victory. Leading the way for the Eagles was Chandler Vaudrin who had 17 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, & 2 steals.

Offensively, Winthrop has been led by Charles Falden (13.2 ppg, 3.1 rpg), Chandler Vaudrin (12.0 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 8.3 apg, 1.5 spg), Adonis Arms (11.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.0 spg), & D.J. Burns Jr. (9.5 ppg, 2.9 rpg).
Defensively, Winthrop is allowing their opponents to average 74.5 ppg on 44.1% shooting from the field. The Eagles have a rebound margin of 9.5 and a turnover margin of 1.6.
The Lancers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Thursday games, however, are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games. The Eagles are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 Thursday games, however, are just 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games following a ATS loss.
Longwood was able to pick up a much-needed victory against Campbell, but this Lancers are going to be one of the worst team in the Big South and could be in real trouble against the explosive Wintrhop offense as they currently rank just 285th in defensive FG%. Winthrop has been very solid at home this season, which includes an 87-71 victory against a very good Furman team and as I think the Eagles put up 85+ points in this one, I’m taking Winthrop to cover this large home spread. Good Luck!
