In the Tigers loss to Houston, Memphis was led on offense by Precious Achiuwa.  Achiuwa had a monster of a double-double, finishing with 25 points and 15 rebounds.  Memphis shot 36 percent from the floor and 25 percent from 3-point distance. The Tigers were dominated on the offensive boards, allowing Houston to pull down 19 offensive rebounds.  Memphis also had 17 turnovers. The turnovers and the poor rebounding helped Houston attempt 17 more shots from the floor. The Tigers led 30-26 at the half.

Achiuwa is leading the way for the Tigers, recording 15.8 points and 10.8 rebounds per game.  D.J. Jeffries is collecting 10.8 points and 1.1 blocked shots per contest. Memphis is scoring 72 points on average, while hitting on 44 percent from the floor for the year.

Recent Betting Trends:

East Carolina is 4-2 ATS in their last 6 games.

East Carolina is 1-6 SU in their last 7 games.

The over is 4-1 in East Carolina’s last 5 games.

Memphis is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games.

Memphis is 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games.

The under is 4-1 in Memphis’ last 5 games.

East Carolina has been steam rolled in their last 2 games by at least 21 points.  The pirates are not a good team, but Memphis has not exactly been blowing out their opponents in their wins.  The Tigers have either recorded a loss or have won by 8 or less points in games since February 5th. These two teams met back on February 19th, with Memphis winning 77-73.  I’m going to take the Pirates in this one, as this spread seems a little high after seeing what Memphis has done lately. Final score prediction, Memphis will win and East Carolina will cover against the spread, 72-64.
