The Denver Pioneers (7-23, CONF 3-13) and North Dakota State Bison (22-8, CONF 13-3) face off in the Summit League quarterfinals on Saturday at the Denny Sanford Premier Center. NDSU beat Denver twice during the regular season, with each team covering one of the spreads.

Denver has had some real big issues this season but coming into this game they have won two of the last three games. Three games ago against Oral Roberts, Denver was 6.5 point underdogs but they were able to score 100 points and that led to a victory.

The offense has been fine for most of the season, but the defense let them down giving up 77 points per game. In the last game against NDSU, Denver gave up 82 points and that led to the loss.

Denver is led by Ade Murkey who is averaging 18.6 points while shooting almost 49 percent from the field.

North Dakota State University has the one seed in this tournament and coming into this game the yahve won nine of the last ten games. Even though they have had success winning the games, NDSU has only covered two of the last six spreads.

The stats for NDSU don’t pop off the page, but they are just a good solid team that has beaten a lot of teams this year. On the season the offense is averaging 72.9 points per game while the defense is giving up 67.7 points.

NDSU is led by Vinnie Shahid who is averaging 18.1 points who is shooting 42.4 percent from the field.

Denver is 9-2 against the spread in their last 11 games overall. The over is 16-5 in Denver’s last 21 games overall. The over is 46-22 in NDSU’s last 68 games against the Summit League.

Denver isn’t a very good team, but Vegas has had issues getting the line right for their games, which has led to them being very profitable. Denver’s offense has been better as of late, and that will be enough to keep them in this game. Look for Denver to cover the spread.
