The Lehigh Mountain Hawks (11-20, CONF 8-11) and Colgate Raiders (23-8, CONF 14-4) face off in a Patriot League showdown at Cotterell Court. Colgate has won the first two meetings over Lehigh this season, but Lehigh was able to cover the spread in the last game.
Lehigh has had plenty of struggles this season, but they come into this game hot having won four games in a row. In two of those four games, Lehigh was the underdog but they still came away with the outright win.
Lehigh hasn’t been a high scoring team most of the season but over the last five games they have raised that number up to 69 points.
The Mountain Hawks are led by Jordan Cohen who is averaging 13.9 points while shooting 43.3 percent from the field. Cohen at times has been inconsistent and over the last two games he has scored only ten points total.
Colgate has the number one seed in the Patriot League and they are hoping to get to the NCAA tournament. Over the last nine games, Colgate has won seven games, but they have only covered four spreads.
In Colgate’s last game it was the offense that ran up the score putting up 91 points and that led to an easy victory. Forward Will Rayman put up 19 points and guard Tucker Richardson put up 18 points to pace Colgate.
If Colgate can run up the score, they should have no issue advancing to the next round of the conference tournament.
Lehigh is 3-7 against the spread in their last ten games played on the road. The over is 6-2 in Colgate’s last eight games played on Thursday. The over is 5-2-1 in Colgate’s last eight home games. Colgate is 7-3 against the spread in their last ten home games.
Lehigh gave Colgate everything they could handle in the last game and it’s going to happen again in this game. Look for Lehigh to play enough defense to cover the spread.
